For starters, the Garden State's strategic location on the East Coast provides excellent access to major markets and transportation networks. Backed by numerous universities and research institutions, the state also boasts a highly skilled and educated workforce. Additionally, New Jersey boasts a diverse economy that includes major companies in the pharmaceuticals, life sciences, financial services, advanced manufacturing, telecommunications, information technology, and transportation industries. Indeed many of this year’s awardees lead New Jersey's largest and most influential players.

Some of the distinguished honorees on this year’s list include Barak Eilam, the CEO of NICE, a global company with over 8,500 employees serving 25,000 organizations in more than 150 countries. Under his CEO leadership of nine years, NICE's revenue has more than doubled, with significant growth and a tripling of profitability, resulting in a seven-fold increase in market capitalization. Meanwhile, Siby Vadakekkara, the Co-Founder and CEO of Marlabs, has spearheaded his company’s growth from three people in 2007 to over 2,500 today. Lastly, representing the aerospace industry, we have Thierry Betbeze, the CEO of Dassault Falcon Jet. Over the years, Betbeze has risen from being a cost accountant to later being influential in several multi-billion projects, which includes being responsible for relations with the French Ministry of Finance.

1. Subhash Makhija
CEO and Co-Founder, GEP Worldwide

Subhash Makhija co-founded GEP in 1999. Under his leadership as CEO, the company has grown to employ approximately 6,000 individuals across its global offices and operations centers. Today GEP is widely recognized as an innovative company in the supply chain software and services sector by media outlets, industry analysts, and technology research firms.

Prior to co-founding GEP, Makhija held the position of Senior Manager at Accenture, where he led various engagements related to strategy, supply chain, procurement, and global outsourcing. In terms of education, Makhija received a PhD in chemical engineering from the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, a MS in chemical engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and a bachelor's in chemical engineering from the University Department of Chemical Technology in Mumbai. He also holds an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, where he actively serves as a member of its advisory board.

 

2. Raj Mamodia
Founder, Managing Director & CEO, Brillio

Raj Mamodia is the Founder, Managing Director, and CEO of Brillio, a technology company that focuses on customer experience solutions, data analytics, digital infrastructure, and product engineering. With a global workforce of over 6,000 employees across 17 locations, Brillio leverages technologically-driven innovation to solve complex business challenges.

Previously Mamodia served as the CEO of Collabera – and founded Brillio as a separate entity in 2014. Before Collabera, Mamodia worked at Cognizant. In addition, he is the founder of Bringing Smiles, a charity organization. His leadership style combines cutting-edge digital technology with a passion for social responsibility. Mamodia completed his studies in mechanical engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad; and pursued an MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.

 

3. Ray Bisson
Chief Executive Officer, Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.)

Ray Bisson is the Chief Executive Officer of Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.), the North American operation of the Switzerland-based Schindler Group, a leading global mobility provider of elevators, escalators and related services. Schindler supports sustainable urban development with safe, reliable and sustainable mobility solutions, moving more than one billion people every day all over the world. Behind the company's success are around 70,000 employees in more than 100 countries.

Bisson has 31 years of experience. He began his career in 1992. Before joining his current company, Bisson was an executive director of product management at Otis Elevator. Earlier in his career, he worked with the U.S. Navy as an airman. Bisson graduated from Purdue University Daniels School of Business with an MBA. He also graduated from the University of Florida with an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering.

 

4. Gary Hilaire
President and CEO, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey

Gary Hilaire is the President and CEO of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, a leading healthcare company. With 30 years of experience, he specializes in executive leadership, strategy, start-ups, acquisitions, and turnarounds. Under his leadership, Horizon BCBSNJ is transforming healthcare in Garden State by collaborating with physicians, hospitals, and health systems to deliver innovative, patient-centered programs focused on care quality.

Before joining Horizon BCBSNJ, Hilaire served as the President and CEO of Capital BlueCross. Prior to his CEO role, he held various positions at Capital, including President, Executive Vice President, and CFO. In addition, Hilaire previously co-founded Choicelinx, a healthcare technology company. He also held executive leadership roles at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts, overseeing a $200 million turnaround as CFO. He began his finance career at Deloitte & Touche.

Hilaire actively engages in community service by serving on the boards of directors for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), BCS Financial, the National Institute for Health Care Management (NIHCM) Foundation, and Ernest Health. Hilaire graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's in management advisory services from Southern New Hampshire University.

 

5. Chintu Patel
Co-CEO, Amneal Pharmaceuticals

Chintu Patel has served as Co-Chief Executive Officer and Director of Amneal Pharmaceuticals since August 2019. Previously, Patel served as Co-Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Amneal from 2002 until the combination with Impax Laboratories in 2018. With his brother, Patel has also co-founded and invested in several independent biopharmaceutical companies, including Asana Biosciences, Kashiv BioSciences and Prolong Pharmaceuticals.

Prior to founding Amneal, Patel was a pharmacist and senior-level manager with Eckerd Pharmacy. In the past, he has been a featured speaker at the Hauppauge Industrial Association in New York. He also serves on the boards of the Long Island Association and Long Island University. Patel holds a bachelor’s in Pharmacy from Rutgers College of Pharmacy. More recently, he received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from Long Island University Pharmacy. The honorary doctorate was given to him in recognition of his contributions toward quality, integrity, and innovation in pharmaceuticals.

 

6. Neil Salmon
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Ansell

Neil Salmon joined Ansell in July 2013 as Chief Financial Officer. Six years later, he became President of the Industrial Global Business Unit. Then in September 2021, he assumed his current roles: Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. His company, Ansell, is a world leader in providing superior health and safety protection solutions that enhance human well-being.

Salmon began his career at Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), where he held operational finance leadership positions in various regions, GBUS, and functions for 17 years. Prior to joining Ansell, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Innophos, a specialty ingredients manufacturing company in Cranbury, New Jersey. Over his long career, he has worked in different countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore, South Africa, and Belgium. Salmon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from Lincoln College, Oxford University. He is also a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA, CGMA).

 

7. Matthew Farrell
Chief Executive Officer, Church & Dwight Co.

Mathew Farrell is the Chief Executive Officer of Church & Dwight Co., a New Jersey-based consumer goods company focusing on personal care, household products, and specialty products. The company was founded in 1847. Over the years, Farrell has served as his company’s Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer. With his extensive experience, today Farrell provides valuable insights and guidance in areas such as operations, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, finance, compliance, risk management, and investor relations.

Prior to Church & Dwight Co., Farrell served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Alpharma. He also held roles at Ingersoll-Rand Ltd. and AlliedSigna. Currently, Farrell is a board member of Trinseo PLC. He holds an undergraduate degree from Manhattan College.

 

8. Douglas Bryant
President and Chief Executive Officer, QuidelOrtho Corporation

Douglas Bryant serves as President and Chief Executive Officer for QuidelOrtho Corporation, a global provider of innovative in vitro diagnostics technologies designed for point-of-care settings, clinical labs and transfusion medicine. Notably, Bryant orchestrated the company’s transformative response to the COVID-19 pandemic; and complementary acquisition of Ortho Clinical Diagnostics.

Bryant has more than three decades of industry experience, undertaking multiple global leadership roles in the diagnostics space. Prior to joining Quidel, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Luminex Corporation, managing its Bioscience Group, Luminex Molecular Diagnostics (Toronto), manufacturing, R&D, technical operations, and commercial operations. He also held various worldwide commercial operations positions with Abbott Laboratories, including, among others: Vice President of Abbott Vascular for Asia/Japan, Vice President of Abbott Molecular Global Commercial Operations, and Vice President of Abbott Diagnostics Global Commercial Operations. Bryant holds a BA in economics from the University of California at Davis.

 

9. Raj Patil
Chief Executive Officer, Orion Innovation

Raj Patil is the Chief Executive Officer of Orion Innovation, a global business and technology services firm specializing in digital strategy, experience design, and engineering. Orion works with clients from various industries, including financial services, telecommunications, consumer products, and more. With over 22 years of experience, Patil is a seasoned executive who has successfully led the growth and development of both large IT services companies and start-up ventures. As CEO of Orion, he is responsible for driving the company's growth and positioning it as a leading provider of information technology and outsourcing services.

Prior to joining Orion, Patil served as the President and COO of LiquidHub, an IT consulting and services company, where he led business units and global operations. He was also a Co-founder and Chairman of the Board at aSpark, an IT services company focused on enterprise solutions in the digital interactive market. Additionally, Patil spent over seven years with MphasiS, an HP company, playing key roles in its significant revenue growth. Patil holds an MBA from the University of Chicago - Booth School of Business, an MS in Computer Science from Villanova University, and a BS in Computer Science from Mysore University, India.

 

10. Ken Keller
President and CEO, Daiichi Sankyo

Ken Keller is the President and CEO of Daiichi Sankyo, a leading pharmaceutical company that operates in approximately 30 countries/regions worldwide and is backed by a workforce of more than 17,000 employees. In his current position, Keller leads the Global Oncology Business and serves on Daiichi Sankyo's Global Management Committee. It is worth to note that Daiichi Sankyo has over 120 years of scientific expertise. Keller joined the company in 2014. At Daiichi Sankyo, he has prioritized the launch of multiple oncology therapeutics.

With over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Keller has held leadership positions in the U.S. and Europe. He is also a member of the PhRMA Board of Directors; and has served on the board of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry. He holds a BS in business from Saint John's University and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University.

 

11. Jan De Witte
President and CEO, Integra LifeSciences

Jan De Witte is the President and CEO of Integra, a global leader in neurosurgery. With a broad portfolio of products and solutions, Integra specializes in dural access and repair, cerebral spinal fluid management, and neuro-critical care. They also offer regenerative tissue technologies for soft tissue, nerve, and tendon repairs, as well as treatments for wounds, burns, and plastic surgery. De Witte brings over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry to his role at Integra.

Previously, De Witte served as the CEO of Barco N.V., a global technology leader focused on networked visualization solutions. During his tenure, De Witte drove digital innovation, new product development, international market growth, and operational excellence. Prior to that, he held senior leadership positions at GE, including President and CEO of GE Global Healthcare IT. He also has consulting experience at McKinsey and operational expertise from Procter & Gamble. Beyond his role at Integra, De Witte serves on the board of directors of ResMed, a global leader in digital health technologies and medical devices. He holds a master's in electromechanical engineering from KU Leuven in Belgium, as well as an MBA from Harvard University.

 

12. Jaswinder Chadha
Founder, President & CEO, Axtria

Jaswinder Chadha is the Founder, President, and CEO of Axtria, a leading cloud software and data analytics company for the global life sciences industry. He established Axtria with a mission to provide innovative analytics and software solutions to help life science companies effectively manage data and engage customers. Notably, Chadha is a pioneer in advanced decision support software and has collaborated with over 100 global companies to optimize their commercial operations.

Previously, Chadha co-founded and served as CEO of marketRx, which was acquired by Cognizant Technology Solutions. He has also held board positions with TIE Global, Ocular Therapeutics, New Jersey Technology Council, and PAN IIT. Among his degrees, Chadha holds a PhD in industrial engineering and operations research from Texas A&M University. In addition to leading Axtria, he is actively involved in advisory and board roles, including the Second District Advisory Council (SDAC) at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He also serves on the boards of SpectraMedix, Panjab Digital Library, and Sikh Research Institute.

 

13. Tarek Rabah
President & CEO, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.)

In 2022 Tare Rabah joined Otsuka as President & CEO of the company’s North America Pharmaceutical Business. With a personal commitment to improving lives, Rabah leads Otsuka's commercial organization in the US and Canada, introducing products, programs, policies, and advocacy initiatives to address unmet medical needs and explore new market opportunities. As a leader, Rabah believes in creating an environment where Otsuka's people are deeply connected to their purpose and the well-being of the patients they serve.

With over 20 years of experience, Rabah has successfully launched brands and led divisions at AstraZeneca and Novartis across various regions including the United States, Europe, South America, Japan, and the Middle East. His expertise spans multiple therapeutic areas within healthcare. Fluent in five languages, Rabah holds a BS in biology and a BA in business from the American University of Beirut. He also holds an MBA from McGill University.

 

14. Kalyan Kodali
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, ValueMomentum

Kalyan Kodali is the CEO and Co-Founder of ValueMomentum, a leading provider of IT services and solutions for the insurance industry. With his extensive experience and deep engagement with customers, employees, and partners, Kodali has been instrumental in incubating and growing ValueMomentum since its establishment in 2000. Previously, he served as the President of ValueMomentum's Enterprise Business.

With over 25 years of professional experience, Kodali has held various positions in sales, client management, product management, and strategic alliances at companies like Satyam Computer Services and Wipro. He brings a wealth of knowledge across multiple verticals. Kodali holds a Master of Science (Honors) in Economics and a Master of Management Studies (MMS) from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India.

 

15. Bob Carrigan
Chief Executive Officer, Audible

Bob Carrigan joined Audible in January 2020 as Chief Executive Officer. Audible is a leading producer and provider of original spoken-word entertainment and audiobooks. Brining a wealth of experience to his CEO role at Audible, Carrigan previously served as Chairman and CEO of Dun & Bradstreet, where he led a business, technology and cultural transformation that restored the 177-year-old firm to growth.

Before that, Carrigan served as CEO of IDG Communications, transforming that company from traditional print publisher to modern media company. He also spent four years at America Online Inc. as SVP of Interactive Marketing, leading business development for technology and entertainment channels. Notably, Carrigan is a former Chairman of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). He graduated from Questrom School of Business, Boston University with an undergraduate degree in business administration.

 

16. Matthew Collier
Chief Executive Officer, Sutherland Healthcare Solutions

Joining the company in 2020, Matthew Collier is the Chief Executive Officer of Sutherland Healthcare Solutions, a global company that provides end-to-end business process solutions for the healthcare industry. With a focus on technology-driven services, Sutherland offers a wide range of solutions including revenue cycle management, medical coding and billing, claims processing, healthcare analytics, and patient engagement.

Previously, Collier served as senior managing director of global head health care strategic consulting and strategy lead in Western US at Accenture. Before that, he was a partner at Bain & Company. Earlier in his career, he worked with McKinsey & Company as a senior engagement manager. Collier earned an MBA from J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.

 

17. Dan Calkins
Chairman and CEO, Benjamin Moore

Dan Calkins is the Chairman and CEO of Benjamin Moore, a renowned American paint manufacturing company. Founded in 1883, the company has established itself as a leading producer of premium quality paints and coatings. 18. Sanjay Mirchandani
President and CEO, Commvault

Since February of 2019, Sanjay Mirchandani has served as the President and CEO of Commvault, a global leader in cloud data protection. Commvault offers Intelligent Data Services to safeguard customer data across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Their unified Data Protection Platform ensures comprehensive data protection through various solutions including software subscriptions, integrated appliances, partner-managed offerings, and Software as a Service (SaaS) via the Metallic portfolio.

Prior to joining Commvault, Mirchandani served as the CEO of Puppet, an IT automation company, from May 2016 to January 2019. He brings extensive international business experience and a diverse technology background to his role. Before Puppet, Mirchandani held senior leadership positions at VMware, including Corporate Senior Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific and Japan. He also had notable roles at EMC Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, and Arthur Andersen. Mirchandani holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor's in mathematics from Drew University.

 

19. Ivan Cheung
US, Chairman, President of Neurology, CEO, Eisai US

Ivan Cheung is the Chairman and CEO of Eisai in the U.S. – as well as Global Alzheimer’s Disease Officer and Senior Corporate Officer for Eisai in Japan, the parent company of Eisai Inc. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the company in North America, which is the largest commercial region for Eisai globally. Cheung provides management oversight to all of Eisai's operating companies in the U.S. and Canada, including fully integrated commercial and medical organizations specializing in oncology and neurology, as well as multiple research and development facilities. Additionally, he is responsible for Eisai’s global end-to-end strategy and activities from new product development and regulatory affairs to brand commercialization and value/access to deliver breakthrough disease-modifying therapies and ecosystem solutions to people living with Alzheimer’s disease and related brain health conditions.

Since joining Eisai Co., Ltd. in 2005, Cheung has held positions of rising responsibility across corporate planning and strategy, corporate finance, talent management, global R&D, the U.S. pharmaceuticals business, the Japan consumer healthcare business, the global oncology business, and the global neurology business. Prior to joining Eisai, he was with the Global Health Practice at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he provided strategy and operations consulting to biopharmaceutical and healthcare clients in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Cheung received his MBA from Harvard and a BS in civil/environmental engineering with a double major in economics from Duke University.

 

20. Tom Polen
Chairman, CEO and President, BD

Tom Polen is the Chairman, CEO, and President of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a global medical technology company. With over 25 years of experience in the field, he leads a team of 75,000+ BD associates. In 1999 Polen joined BD through an acquisition and later held leadership positions in Baxter Healthcare. He returned to BD in 2009 and has since served in various roles. Under his leadership, BD made significant acquisitions such as CareFusion and C. R. Bard. In 2020 Polen assumed the role of CEO, becoming Chairman in 2021.

In addition to his role at BD, Polen serves on the boards of Advamed and Hackensack Meridian Health Center for Discovery and Innovation. He is a member of the American Heart Association CEO Roundtable and actively supports organizations dedicated to breast cancer patients and the Children's Tumor Foundation. Polen also contributes to the Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness for the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration. Polen holds a bachelor's from Salisbury University and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.

 

21. Paul McKenzie
CEO & Managing Director, CSL Seqirus

In March of 2023 Paul McKenzie was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of CSL Seqirus, a company that operates state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in three different continents and a globally integrated supply chain. McKenzie has more than 30 years of leadership experience. After joining CSL as Chief Operating Officer in 2019, he became accountable for optimizing CSL's operations; as well as growing the CSL Seqirus, CSL Plasma, and CSL Vifor businesses. Notably, he transformed CSL's global end-to-end operations, advanced CSL Seqirus' differentiated portfolio strategy. He also led CSL Plasma through COVID-19 challenges, while surpassing plasma collection volumes beyond pre-pandemic levels.

Prior to joining CSL, McKenzie was Executive Vice President of Pharmaceutical Operations & Technology at Biogen. He also served in a range of progressively senior level roles in R&D and manufacturing at Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Merck. In 2020 he was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Engineering. In addition, he has served on numerous professional and academic boards, most recently the Board of Trustees for the Illinois Institute of Technology; and the Society for Biological Engineering. McKenzie holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

 

22. John Marchioni
President and CEO, Selective Insurance

John Marchioni is the Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Selective Insurance Group, an organization that specializes in providing business insurance for the construction industry. It offers a wide range of standard and specialty insurance products for both commercial and personal risks.

In 1998 Marchioni joined Selective and has held various leadership positions within the company. This includes serving as Vice President and Director of Government Affairs, Senior Vice President and Director of Personal Lines and Flood, and Executive Vice President and Chief Field Operations Officer. In 2013, he was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer. Then in February 2020 he assumed his current roles of President and CEO. Marchioni graduated from Princeton University.

 

23. Dan Harmon
Chief Executive Officer, Playa Bowls

Dan Harmon is the Chief Executive Officer of Playa Bowls, a popular food establishment specializing in healthy and refreshing acai bowls. Founded in 2014 in Belmar, New Jersey, Playa Bowls has rapidly expanded and now has numerous locations across the United States. Their menu features a variety of delicious bowls made with acai berries, topped with an assortment of fruits, granola, honey, and other delectable toppings. Playa Bowls offers customers a nutritious and customizable dining experience, with options for vegan and gluten-free diets. Harmon has 30 years of experience. He began his career in 1993.

Before joining Playa Bowls, Harmon was a president and COO at Smoothie King. Before that, he served as the SVP in operations at Papa Murphy's International. Earlier in his career, Harmon worked with SSM INC McDonald's as a supervisor. He graduated from Ohio State University-Mansfield Campus.

24. Ken Levine
Chief Executive Officer, Xcitium

As the CEO of Xcitium, Ken Levine is a fifteen-year cybersecurity industry veteran and brings a wealth of knowledge. Headquartered in Bloomfield, NJ, Xcitium’s mission is to help customers avoid breaches with groundbreaking isolation technology that fully neutralizes ransomware, zero-day malware, and cyber-attacks that other security providers can’t do.

Previously, Levine was CEO of then start-up NitroSecurity, a SIEM platform, before a successful acquisition by McAfee in 2011. At McAfee, Levine was SVP and GM of the security management business unit. After two years at McAfee, Levine became CEO of Digital Guardian. Under his leadership, the organization tripled in size, entered adjacent markets, and became a leader in the DLP and EDR markets. Most recently, Levine was the Chief Executive Officer for microsegmentation company, ShieldX, which Fortinet newly acquired.

Levine’s DNA in start-ups and early-stage companies goes back to a 15-year tenure at Cabletron Systems: a networking company started in a garage that became a billion-dollar company. Levine’s passion is building great teams and companies, establishing GTM strategies with the best technology and products. In 2004, Levine founded Brookline Venture Partners to invest in early-stage technology companies. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.

 

25. Siby Vadakekkara
Chairman & CEO, Marlabs

41. Thierry Betbeze

In 2019 Thierry Betbeze was named CEO of Dassault Falcon Jet, a recognized brand for Dassault business jets, which are designed, manufactured and supported by Dassault Aviation. Over the past 9 years, NICE's revenue has more than doubled, with significant growth and a tripling of profitability, resulting in a seven-fold increase in market capitalization.

Eilam began his career at NICE in 1999 as an engineer and has since held various senior leadership positions in R&D, product management, and sales. He played a key role in establishing and leading NICE's Analytics business, which facilitated the company's transformation into an enterprise software provider. Before becoming CEO, Eilam served as the President of NICE Americas, expanding the customer base and delivering solutions to 85 of the Fortune 100 organizations. Prior to joining NICE, Eilam served as an officer in the Intelligence Corps of the Israeli army. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Tel Aviv University.
